Frequently asked questions
What is Reformer Pilates and who is it for?
Reformer Pilates is a low-impact, full-body workout focused on core strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Using precise, controlled movement and breathwork, it supports both physical and mental wellbeing. Suitable for all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced.
What is the Reformer apparatus?
The Reformer is a piece of Pilates apparatus featuring a sliding carriage, springs, ropes, and a footbar. It provides adjustable resistance to support strengthening, stretching, and improved stability, enabling a safe, effective, and controlled workout.
What happens in a class?
Each session begins with a warm-up, followed by guided exercises designed to strengthen, mobilise and align the body.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing, ideally without zips, poppers, or metal details. Grip socks are required for all Reformer classes for safety and hygiene, and are available to purchase in the studio. Please remove your shoes on entry in the designated area.
How many people are in each class?
Classes are limited to six people to ensure a personalised and supportive experience.
What should I bring?
Just a water bottle. All equipment is provided.
Where do I park?
Free on-site parking is available. Please follow the signs marked “Reserved Parking for Aligné” and park in the designated spaces or nearby overflow areas.
How do I book?
Book via Momence. Create an account and purchase a pass. All classes must be booked in advance.
Do you have a waiting list?
Yes. If a class is full, you can join the waitlist via Momence. You will be notified if a space becomes available. A credit is required to join.
What is your cancellation policy?
Classes can be rescheduled up to 12 hours before the start time. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged in full. All purchases are non-refundable. Failure to attend a booked class (no-show) will result in the class credit being forfeited and an administration fee of £5 being charged. This fee represents a genuine pre-estimate of the administrative costs associated with a no-show.
Can Reformer Pilates help with injuries or pain?
Yes, when guided by a qualified instructor. You will be asked to complete a medical questionnaire when booking your first class at Aligné Pilates Studio. Depending on your needs, a 1:1 session may be recommended before joining a class.
I am pregnant or postnatal – can I attend?
Yes, with medical approval. Reformer Pilates is low-impact and can support the back, core and pelvic floor. Exercises may be adapted where needed. Please note this on your medical questionnaire. A 1:1 session may be recommended before joining group classes.
What is the minimum age requirement?
Clients must be at least 16 years old to attend.
